Mouse Control — New London Home

Mice entering a New London home each fall were eliminated with baiting, exclusion, and a preventative program to break the yearly cycle.

The Field Report

Inspection

A New London family called because mice were showing up in the kitchen and garage every fall — a common pattern along the Wolf River corridor where field mice move indoors as the weather turns.

What We Found

  • Mouse droppings in the garage, under the kitchen sink, and in a lower-level pantry
  • Entry under the garage door and through a gap around the gas line penetration
  • A travel route along the foundation where mice were moving from the yard into the house

Treatment

We placed tamper-resistant bait stations along the travel routes and inside the garage, then sealed the garage door gap and the utility penetration with copper mesh and caulk. Mice only need a 1/4-inch gap to enter, so exclusion is the part that actually breaks the cycle.

Follow-Up

Activity stopped within a week. The homeowners enrolled in a quarterly preventative program so the bait stations and entry points are checked before every fall — which is why mice return every year if you only treat once.

Rodent control in New London, WI — mice eliminated, entry sealed, yearly cycle broken.
